Meet Dr. Sara Aghayan, Founder

As a diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Sara Aghayan holds the highest anesthesia credential available in dentistry. In addition, Dr. Aghayan is a Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support instructor and routinely teaches safety courses to other healthcare professionals, reflecting her deep commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.

Dr. Aghayan attended high school in Irvine, California before earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. During her undergraduate studies, she discovered her passion for dentistry, becoming the first in a family of physicians to pursue a dental career. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where she found the perfect intersection of her interests and solidified her calling in dental anesthesiology. While at UCSF, Dr. Aghayan simultaneously earned her Master of Business Administration, further strengthening her leadership, operational, and strategic skills—tools she now uses to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered anesthesia care.

Dr. Aghayan then moved to New York City to complete a rigorous three-year residency in dental anesthesiology at New York University. There, she trained in a Level I trauma center, providing anesthesia for a wide range of complex and high-acuity surgical cases—including trauma, vascular, neurosurgical, and pediatric patients. Alongside her hospital experience, she gained extensive exposure to ambulatory and office-based anesthesia, developing a strong foundation in delivering hospital-grade safety in dental settings.

In her free time, Dr. Aghayan still loves to think about anesthesia and often has discussions with her fiancé, who is also an anesthesiologist. She enjoys photography and experimenting in the kitchen as a self-proclaimed chef. She loves traveling, attending live music events, exploring new cuisines, and staying active through skiing and Pilates. Dr. Aghayan is fluent in Farsi.
